
Meet Coach Valerie
Coach Valerie Ellsworth Gattis,
USA Triathlon Level II Certified Coach, USAT Youth and Junior Certified Coach
Coach Valerie applies the knowledge gleaned from her multi-sport experiences (five-time finisher Ironman World Championship Triathlon, Kona, Hawaii; Gold Medalist ITU Long Course World Championships; two-time 1st Place Race Across America) to train others to become the best athletes they can be. Through varying levels of on-line and in-person training, she offers unique programs that are customized to address the individual needs of each athlete.
Valerie is the Managing Director of Victory’s Edge, a multisport coaching business servicing novice to veteran athletes. She is also the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Alive with MissionMe!, a not-for-profit organization committed to combating childhood obesity and putting the fun back into physical activity by developing in-school curricula and after-school programs to foster participation in multisport. Previously, she was Vice President and Member of the Board of LifeSports, one of the first firms to utilize the internet to effectively communicate with clients. Valerie is a past President of USA Triathlon and a long-time member of the board and various USAT commissions and committees. She was Vice President of the Pan-American Triathlon Confederation (PATCO) and served as the US delegate to the International Triathlon Union’s Women’s Committee. She also is a certified USA Triathlon Level II coach. Valerie received her BA degree from Wheaton College in Norton, MA. She is a certified mediator in mediation and conflict resolution.
